Launch Complex 39 (LC-39) is a rocket launch site at the John F. Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island in Florida, USA. The site and its collection of facilities were originally built for the Apollo program, and later modified to support Space Shuttle operations. NASA began modifying LC-39 in 2007 to accommodate Project Constellation. Launches from LC-39 are supervised from the Launch Control Center, located 3 miles (4.8 km) from the launch pads. LC- 39 is one of several launch sites that share the Eastern Test Range. Launch Complex 39 comprises the 2 launch pads, the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), the Crawlerway (the route used by crawler-transporters to carry Mobile Launch Platforms between the VAB and the pads), the Orbiter Processing Facility buildings, the Launch Control Center (which contains the firing rooms), the KSC Press Site (famous for the iconic countdown clock and flag seen in television coverage), and various logistical and operational support buildings.

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center is a People's Republic of China space vehicle launch facility (spaceport) in the Gobi desert, Ejin Banner, Alxa League, Inner Mongolia, located about 1,600 km from Beijing. It is located at 40°57 38 N 100°17 54 E / 40.96056°N 100.29833°E / 40.96056, 100.29833. It was founded in 1958, making it PRC's first of three spaceports. More Chinese launches have occurred at Jiuquan than anywhere else. As with all Chinese launch facilities it is remote and generally closed to foreigners. It is named as such since Jiuquan is the nearest urban centre, although Jiuquan is in the nearby province of Gansu.

The Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) is the core of instrumentation and data processing operations at NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Center, Florida supporting KSC's space launch responsibilities. It centralizes the handling of the center's data including offices, laboratories and test stations, and houses general instrumentation activities serving more than one launch complex. The CIF also houses computers and other electronic equipment for reduction of telemetry data, analysis, and transmission to other NASA centers. The three-story structure of approximately 12,480 square meters just west of the Headquarters Building is one of the most distinctive buildings in the KSC Industrial Area with its rooftop array of antennas. The Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) is the core of instrumentation and data processing operations at NASA's John F.
